Riverside Hotel

The hotel has 38 guest rooms, each with comfortable beds with Hypnos pillow-top mattresses, a flatscreen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom. Rooms range in size from classic single rooms up to family rooms with a sofa bed.

The entire hotel underwent an extensive renovation in 2022 and the hotel now offers a high standard of accommodation with contemporary furnishings in most of the rooms (some rooms have a more traditional-style decor with four-poster beds). The common areas are also decorated in a traditional style to highlight the historic nature of the old manor house. Many of the rooms have lovely views of the meadows and the cathedral.

The hotel appeals to people who prefer to stay in a small independently-run hotel over a large chain hotel, although in this instance it also offers the comforts of a larger hotel.

The hotel has an on-site restaurant and bar. Mark’s Bar is a cosy spot for a drink and the Brasserie serves pizza plus mains that range from pub classics during lunchtime with a more sophisticated menu in the evening. When the weather is nice you can enjoy your meal outdoors with views across the water meadows to the cathedral.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet is available throughout the hotel.

Although Riverside Hotel appears to be not as central as some other hotels in Salisbury, many guests love the location. Although it is a 20-minute walk to the city centre, the hotel has a lovely riverside setting and it is a pleasant walk into the centre that goes through the Cathedral Close (or via the Town Path if you’re heading to the railway station).

It is a good option if you’re driving as it is one of the closest hotels to the city centre to offer free car parking.
