Thorpe Park Hotel and Spa

The hotel has 117 guest rooms arranged over four floors. All rooms have comfortable beds, a seating area, a work desk, a flatscreen television, ironing facilities, a small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities including a capsule coffee machine and en suite bathrooms.

Suites are larger and have separate living and sleeping areas along and the Premier Suite includes a complimentary fully-stocked minibar.

Several of the rooms are wheelchair accessible and there is also wheelchair access to all public areas of the hotel.

The hotel’s restaurant/bar is much better than you would expect for a suburban hotel and the standard of the food is quite sophisticated.

It is a modern upmarket hotel that caters to business travellers, although the spa facilities attract couples looking for a weekend away. The hotel’s spa and health club facilities include a gym, a swimming pool, a sauna and steam room and eight spa treatment rooms.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel complex.

It is much nicer inside than you would expect, although the location on the edge of town is best suited if you’re driving and need a place to break the journey rather than as a base for exploring Leeds.

The hotel is located near junction 46 of the M1 motorway (the Austhorpe Interchange), around 7.5km (4½ miles) west of Leeds’ city centre. It is not the most vibrant location, although it is around a five-minute walk to Colton Retail Park and a cluster of fast-food restaurants and a Harvester pub-style restaurant.

The closest bus stop is around a four-minute walk away on Selby Road. From here there are regular buses to the city centre with a journey time of around half an hour.

Car parking is available but it costs £3 per night.
