The Dorman Museum is one of Middlesbrough’s key cultural attractions. The museum offers an insight into art, history and science.

The museum features artefacts from Middlesbrough’s industrial past and beyond with a collection of art, natural history and industrial artefacts. Many items are linked to the region’s mining and shipbuilding history.

What to see at the Dorman Museum

Visitors to the Dorman Museum will find a diverse range of exhibits. One section is dedicated to natural history with displays including fossils, minerals and taxidermy. The art collection features works from local and national artists with exhibits that include paintings, sculptures and decorative objects. A section on industrial history displays tools, machinery and photographs. These items illustrate the town’s development during the industrial revolution.
