The Emirates Arsenal stadium in Highbury in north London is home to the Arsenal Football Club. The stadium was opened in July 2006 and replaced the older Arsenal Stadium, located nearby, that operated from 1913 to 2006.
The stadium has a capacity of 65,000, making it England’s third-largest football stadium after Wembley Stadium and Old Trafford.
The old Arsenal Stadium has now been converted into the Highbury Square apartment complex, however, the East Stand of the old stadium is considered architecturally significant and has been preserved and incorporated into the new development. The old East Stand is on Avenell Road, just a five-minute walk from Arsenal tube station.
What to see at the Arsenal Museum
The Arsenal Museum displays a collection of exhibits about the team’s history from its time at Woolwich and, more recently, at Highbury and Emirates Stadium.
The museum also has an area where you can watch video highlights of the team’s history.

The stadium tour lets you see the stadium including many areas normally off-limits to the general public including the Arsène Wenger’s office, the directors’ box, the players’ entrance, the home changing room, the players’ tunnel, the dugout and the pitch.
Visiting the Emirates Arsenal stadium
The Arsenal Museum is located in the Northern Triangle Building at the northern end of the stadium next to the Ken Friar Bridge, just a few minutes’ walk from Arsenal tube station. There is an audio tour available in nine languages: Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese and Spanish plus a tour in British Sign Language. The English-language audio tour is narrated by Arsenal legend, Bob Wilson.
