The Flackley Ash Hotel is a hotel in a Georgian country house set on 2ha (5 acres) in the countryside in Peasmarsh 6.5km (4 miles) northwest of Rye.
The hotel has 44 guest bedrooms. All rooms come with comfortable beds, a flatscreen television, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. There is free Wi-Fi wireless internet access throughout the hotel.
It is a dog-friendly accommodation option although you do need to pay an extra £10 per dog per night.
The hotel looks nice from the outside but once inside it feels a little worn around the edges and it could certainly do with a good renovation.
Overall the accommodation is rather overpriced for what you get.
The hotel restaurant is probably the best thing about Flackley Ash. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the menu generally revolves around British classics with a Mediterranean twist. It is known for its traditional Sunday roast lunch and it is also a popular venue to enjoy afternoon tea.
Flackley Ash also includes spa facilities with treatment rooms plus a gym, a 12m (40 ft) heated indoor swimming pool, spa pool and sauna.
The location in the countryside is not particularly convenient unless you’re driving; however, there are a few points of interest within walking distance including a supermarket and a pub (both a 10-minute walk) and the small village of Peasmarsh (around a 15-minute walk). From the hotel, it takes around 10 minutes to drive into Rye.There is plenty of free parking at the hotel and they even have a couple of electric car charging points.
