The Hilton London Heathrow Airport hotel is just a short walk along a covered elevated walkway to Terminal 4 at Heathrow Airport, which makes it one of the better-located hotels at Heathrow.
Upon entering the hotel you are greeted by a large atrium area where you can find the hotel’s cafe, bar and restaurants. The decor, particularly in the atrium and reception areas, feels a lot like you’re inside an airport terminal, which is not particularly charming. Once you get away from the atrium area, the hotel starts to feel a lot nicer with a modern decor that is a step up from your average American chain hotel.
The hotel’s 398 guest bedrooms are somewhat compact and have comfortable beds, a work desk, a minibar, a flat screen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms.
Guests staying in the premium club rooms get access to the executive lounge, where you can get complimentary breakfast as well as drinks and canapes in the evenings. Hilton Honors Diamond members also have access to this lounge.
The hotel has a good choice of restaurants, which include an Italian restaurant (Aromi), an Asian restaurant with a mix of Chinese and Thai dishes (Zen Oriental) and Oscars, a more casual restaurant with an international menu. There are more options than this, however, as it is only a five-minute walk to the terminal building and the restaurants at the nearby Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Express and Premier Inn hotels are even closer.
There is also a heated indoor swimming pool plus a sauna, a steam room and a gym.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel for Hilton Honors members (it is free to join) but non-members only get Wi-Fi access in the hotel’s public areas.
Most Heathrow Airport hotels are located far enough away from the airport that you need to catch a bus but this hotel (and a handful of others near Terminal 4) is an easy five-minute walk to the airport terminal. Access is via an elevated covered walkway from the departures level at Terminal 4 (this walkway also goes to the Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Express and Premier Inn hotels).
The location is perfect if you’re flying in or out of Terminal 4 and the close proximity to the terminal combined with free train and tube connections with Terminals 2, 3 and 5 mean that it is worth considering this hotel even if you’re flying from a different terminal. With direct trains linking Terminal 4 with Paddington railway station in Central London (with a 35-minute journey time), it is even worth considering this hotel as a slightly better value alternative to more pricey hotels in the city centre.
Car parking is available at this hotel but it costs £20 per day.
Note: There are two Hilton hotels at Heathrow Airport. While this hotel is very convenient to Terminal 4, don’t make the mistake of booking the Hilton Terminal 5 hotel if you are flying from that terminal. Unlike Hilton’s Terminal 4 hotel, their Terminal 5 hotel is nowhere near the airport. In fact, it is beyond the M25 motorway in Poyle. Although it is served by the Hotel Hoppa bus as well as local buses (the bus stop is a five-minute walk from the hotel), transport connections are not particularly good and for this reason, we do not include the Hilton Terminal 5 hotel on this site.
