The Holiday Inn Leeds Wakefield hotel offers a high standard of accommodation for a reasonable price but the location near junction 40 of the M1 motorway is only convenient if you’re driving.
The 104 guest rooms all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen television, tea and coffee making facilities, ironing facilities and an en suite bathroom with a separate bath and walk-in shower. There are also some wheelchair-accessible rooms available.
The hotel has a 24-hour lounge bar plus Traders Restaurant and Traders Bar, which have a menu of casual options including pizzas.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
The hotel is located near junction 40 of the M1 motorway, around midway between Dewsbury and Wakefield, which are both around a 10-minute drive away or 20–30 minutes by bus and it is around a 20-minute drive to the centre of Leeds.
The surrounding area is comprised mostly of light industry but many of the roads in the area are lined with trees making it a surprisingly attractive area. It isn’t far from the Ramada hotel but there is not much else of interest in the immediate vicinity other than a couple of petrol stations a couple of minutes’ walk away.
Because of its inconvenient location, and the ample free parking, this hotel is best suited if you’re driving. However, the 268 MAX bus route (which links Dewsbury and Wakefield) runs past here and allows you to get into the centre of Wakefield in around 20 minutes.
