The Holiday Inn London Brentford Lock is a modern six-storey hotel on the banks of the River Brent, which forms part of the Grand Union Canal. It is close to Syon House and Kew Gardens and a 12-minute walk from Brentford railway station, which has four trains per hour to London Waterloo.
The lobby area is a welcoming space with lots of nice places to sit with a bar, restaurant and a lounge area with table football and board games. This area also has communal work desks set up like a small co-working space, which is a nice break from working in your room. Overall, the lobby is a nice casual space to relax with a drink or get some work done.
There are 133 guest rooms at the Brentford Holiday Inn. All the hotel rooms are air-conditioned and have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Although the suburban location is not particularly convenient to most tourist attractions in London, the neighbourhood is quite nice with the Grand Union Canal passing by the hotel along with riverside towpaths and traditional narrowboats. There are several nice pubs and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
Syon Park and Syon House (the 16th-century manor house belonging to the Duke of Northumberland) is less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel, The Musical Museum and the London Museum of Water and Steam are within a 25-minute walk and it is also possible to walk to Kew Gardens from here.
You can catch trains to Central London from Brentford railway station, which is around a 12-minute walk from the hotel. Brentford station is in zone four and has four trains per hour to London Waterloo. The journey to Waterloo takes 34 minutes. Local bus route E2 stops on Commerce Road outside the hotel and runs every 7–8 minutes, connecting with Northfields and Ealing Broadway tube stations.
