Hotel du Vin Harrogate

Hotel du Vin Harrogate is a small upmarket hotel in the centre of Harrogate. It offers characterful rooms plus a stylish bar and bistro.

The hotel is in a Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse that retains many period details, including stone façades, wide staircases and original fireplaces.

Accommodation is in 48 rooms and four suites. Standard guest rooms all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen television, tea-and-coffee-making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Bathrooms vary by room type, with some having a shower over a bath and others featuring a separate walk-in shower and a roll-top bath.

The décor is similar to other hotels in the Hotel du Vin chain, highlighting historic aspects of the building while also incorporating modern features and design elements such as bold wallpaper.

Public areas are comprised of a restaurant and bar and the standard of food here, and at other Hotels du Vin, is a couple of steps above your average hotel restaurant.

Bistro du Vin is a French-style bistro with an extensive wine list. The food can be good value compared with other restaurants of a similar standard, particularly if you eat from the prix fixe menu. The food here is primarily French classics alongside modern British dishes and it is noted for its signature Sunday lunch (similar to the Sunday lunch at other Hotels du Vin).

The restaurant is also noted for its afternoon tea, although you’re staying in a town famous for afternoon tea so there are plenty of other afternoon tea options in Harrogate.

The hotel also has a bar with a cosy atmosphere and a more casual menu than the restaurant. While the bar is a nice spot for a drink, it would be a shame to spend all your time here when you could be out exploring Harrogate’s many excellent pubs.

There is also a nice courtyard area, which is a lovely spot for alfresco dining if you’re staying here on a sunny day.

Hotel du Vin Harrogate is at the southern end of the town centre. The hotel is on Prospect Place, right across from a large park, with most points of interest in central Harrogate no more than a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

It’s only a five-minute walk to the railway station and a bus stop, with direct buses to Leeds and Ripon, is just a one-minute walk from the hotel.

Limited on-site parking is available for £15 per night.
