Hotel Indigo Bath

The Hotel Indigo Bath is a large centrally located hotel with a quirky decor that gives it the feel of an oversized boutique hotel.

It is housed in a Grade I listed row of five Georgian townhouses that have previously played host to notable historical figures including Sir Walter Scott, William Wilberforce and the Duke of York. The building features the 18th-century architectural style that Bath is noted for and it has a quirky and eclectic decor that mixes traditional styles with modern features.

The hotel has five different room types, which include Garden, Georgian Architecture, Literary Hideaway and Romance and Mischief. These room types indicate the interior design aesthetic rather than the amenities and the 166 guest rooms all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a sitting area, a large flatscreen television, ironing facilities, a small fridge with complimentary soft drinks, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom. Four of the ground-floor rooms are adapted for guests with disabilities.

There is also a private house with eight guest rooms, which is ideal for a large group of people looking for a bit more privacy than a regular hotel room.

Although the hotel is set in a beautiful Georgian building, it is positioned in a way where you can’t really see any similar buildings from your window and many of the rooms look out over an unattractive car park.

The hotel’s public areas include a lounge area, a gym and a bar and restaurant.

The hotel’s Elder Restaurant is a sophisticated environment to enjoy modern British cuisine. The menu is creative and it makes the most of seasonal locally sourced ingredients. It is definitely a step above most other hotel restaurants.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The hotel is located on a quiet street close to the heart of Bath’s city centre and there is a wide choice of places to eat and drink within a few minutes’ walk. Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths, Thermae Bath Spa and the railway station are all within a five-minute walk from the hotel and most other points of interest in Bath are no more than a 10-minute walk away.
