The Best Western Leigh Park Hotel is a country hotel set on 2ha (5 acres) of landscaped gardens around a 20-minute walk north from the centre of Bradford on Avon. With 38 guest rooms, it is one of the larger hotels in a town that otherwise is limited to small, independently run, boutique hotels.
It is a classic country house hotel in a Grade II-listed building dating from the Georgian period.
The 38 hotel rooms occupy three levels of the main house as well as an annexe next to the main building. The rooms all have flat-screen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms.
The decor inside the rooms is of a traditional style that is in keeping with the historic nature of the building.
Although it looks impressive from the exterior, the hotel could be better maintained inside. However, this could be said for a lot of hotels in buildings from this period.
Due to the historic nature of the building, there is no lift and this may be an issue with you have problems climbing stairs.
The hotel has a lovely light-filled restaurant that looks out onto the garden. Local ingredients are used wherever possible including meat farmed just 5km (3 miles) away and herbs and fruit from the hotel’s own garden. Even some of the wine is local with white wine actually produced on-site with grapes grown in the hotel’s own vineyard.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
The hotel is in a semi-rural setting just north of Bradford on Avon. Despite being surrounded by countryside, it is within walking distance to the town centre which is only 20 minutes away on foot. There is plenty of car parking is available, which makes this hotel a good option if you’re driving.
