The Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel, formerly the Thistle Atlantic Tower Hotel, is a four-star hotel that is popular with both tourists and business travellers. The 12-storey building was designed to resemble a ship’s prow and was originally opened as a hotel in 1972 and has been remodelled several times since then.
The hotel has 225 guest bedrooms, which all have comfortable beds, a small work desk, a flat-screen television, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Most rooms have sea views and superior rooms also have bathrobes and ironing facilities including a trouser press. The hotel’s suites are much larger and feature separate living and sleeping areas.
Although the hotel was originally designed to reflect Liverpool’s maritime heritage, the decor inside many of the rooms is themed to highlight Liverpool’s contribution to British music.
The hotel’s Vista restaurant offers views of the Royal Liver Building and has a menu that combines British classics with international dishes and the Vu Bar is a lovely spot for cocktails or a glass of wine and it features a terrace that is a lovely spot if you’re staying here on a sunny day.
The hotel also has a business centre with 10 meeting rooms available.
