The Musical Museum in Brentford displays a collection of musical instruments including a significant collection of self-playing instruments including player pianos, a Wurlitzer theatre organ and one of the world’s largest collections of musical rolls.
The museum’s exhibits are organised into three galleries and the complex also includes a small concert hall.
Visiting the Musical Museum
The Musical Museum is located near Kew Bridge railway station in Brentford in London’s western suburbs. It is only a five-minute walk to Kew Bridge station, which has trains running every seven minutes from London Waterloo. The journey takes either 28 or 56 minutes, depending whether you get an express train.
Other nearby attractions include London Museum of Water and Steam (a three-minute walk) and Kew Gardens (a 15-minute walk).
There are excellent guided tours of the museum at 11am, 1pm and 3pm on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
