The Novotel hotel in Manchester’s city centre is a modern four-star hotel that shares the same modern brick building as the Portland Street ibis Hotel (both hotels are part of the ALL – Accor Live Limitless hotel group).
The hotel has 164 guest bedrooms that are available as standard, superior and executive rooms.
The standard rooms come with a comfortable queen-size bed, a sofa bed, a television, a work desk, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom.
Superior rooms have essentially the same facilities as the standard rooms, although they are generally of a higher standard.
The executive rooms are much nicer with all the amenities of the superior rooms but also featuring a Nespresso machine, Bose iPod dock and a bathrobe and slippers.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available in all hotel rooms.
All the rooms have a neutral contemporary decor with some Manchester-themed accents and eight of the rooms are wheelchair-accessible.
The eXchange restaurant and bar has an international menu and the bar has a good selection of local beer and gin that you probably won’t find in many other big hotels.
There is also a gym with views over Portland Street plus a steam room and sauna.
The hotel is clean and well maintained offering a high standard of accommodation, although it lacks the wow factor of some other hotels in the same price range.
It has a great location in the heart of Manchester and most points of interest in the city centre are within a 10-minute walk including the Arndale Centre, the Central Retail District, the Northern Quarter and Manchester Piccadilly railway station.
