The Portsmouth City Museum (also known as Portsmouth Museum) has displays on the history and development of Portsmouth.

The museum is housed in the former Clarence Wrens’ Barracks, which was built in 1880. It is noted for having the world’s largest collection of Arthur Conan-Doyle related memorabilia.

Most visitors spend between one and one and a half hours at the museum.
