Rooms at the Premier Inn Taunton East are a mix of double, twin and family rooms. Rooms feature a king-size Hypnos bed and a comfortable chair, a writing desk, a flat-screen television, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom. Some of the rooms are wheelchair accessible.

All rooms have free Wi-Fi wireless internet access (up to 1GB per day).

The hotel also features a Beefeater restaurant, which has a meat-centred menu with a focus on beef. The hotel restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner.

Like other hotels in the Premier Inn chain, this hotel is clean and well maintained offering a great value accommodation option but it is somewhat lacking in character.

The hotel is in a quiet residential area 2.5km (1½ miles) east of Taunton’s town centre. Apart from the adjoining Beefeater restaurant, there is not much of interest in the immediate vicinity around the hotel, although a five-minute walk from the hotel takes you to a McDonald’s and a large multiplex cinema complex.

It is around a half-hour walk (or a four-minute drive) from the town centre or you can walk three minutes to a bus stop on Laxton Road and catch bus route 4, although the bus takes such a roundabout route and it doesn’t work out much quicker than walking.

The hotel has ample free parking, which makes it a good option if you’re driving.

Premier Inn is the largest hotel chain in the United Kingdom and it usually scores very high on customer surveys when compared to other UK hotel chains. It operates at the budget end of the market and provides a reasonably high standard of accommodation for the price, and is comparable to ibis and Travelodge hotels.
