Radisson RED Liverpool is an excellent hotel in a Grade II-listed building adjoining Liverpool Lime Street railway station. It is a great place to stay and it’s particularly convenient if you’re travelling by rail.
The hotel’s 201 guest rooms all have comfortable beds, a flatscreen television, a work desk, a minibar, tea-and-coffee-making facilities (including a Nespresso pod coffee machine) and an en suite bathroom with a nice walk-in shower.
Unlike many other hotels in heritage buildings, the rooms in Liverpool’s Radisson Red hotel are modern and feature a bold design. Rooms range from 21m² (226 sq ft) to 24m² (258 sq ft).
The lobby area is relatively small for a reasonably large hotel from an international chain. It’s just really a small seating area near the reception desk.
The hotel’s other shared facilities include a fitness centre and the Stoke Brasserie & Grill, which serves brasserie-style meals in a refined environment.
The hotel is inside the original railway hotel designed by Alfred Waterhouse, who also designed Manchester Town Hall and London’s Natural History Museum.
The location is very convenient if you’re travelling by train. It is right next door to Liverpool Lime Street railway station and across the road from St George’s Hall.
Other nearby points of interest include Liverpool Central Library, St George’s Hall, Walker Art Gallery and the World Museum, which are all less than a five-minute walk from the hotel. You can also walk to most areas of the city centre in less than 15 minutes, the Cavern Quarter and Ropewalks neighbourhoods are around a 10-minute walk away and you can walk to Albert Dock and Pier Head in 20–25 minutes.
