The Ramada by Wyndham Wakefield hotel is a reasonably-priced hotel on the outskirts of Wakefield with easy access to the M1 motorway. It is good value for money considering the relatively high standard of accommodation but its location means that it is only a convenient place to stay if you’re driving.
The hotel has 100 guest rooms, which all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Some of the rooms are wheelchair accessible.
The hotel has an on-site restaurant and bar that serves English and European cuisine.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Although it offers a reasonably high standard of accommodation, the hotel lacks atmosphere and the location is not particularly convenient unless you’re driving.
The hotel is located near junction 40 of the M1 motorway, around midway between Dewsbury and Wakefield, which are both around a 10-minute drive away or 20–30 minutes by bus.
The area around the hotel is comprised mostly of light industry but many of the roads in the area are lined with trees making it a surprisingly attractive area. However, there is not much of interest in the immediate vicinity other than a couple of petrol stations a five-minute walk away.
Because of its inconvenient location, and the ample free parking, this hotel is best suited if you’re driving. However, the 268 MAX bus route (which links Dewsbury and Wakefield) runs past here and allows you to get into the centre of Wakefield in around 20 minutes.
