The Roomzzz Aparthotel Leeds Headingley is a good accommodation option if you’re looking for somewhere to stay with a little more space, although its location away from the city centre may not suit everyone.
The hotel is comprised of serviced apartments that vary considerably with four different classes of room ranging from the compact Smart Studio to the more spacious Maxima Suite.
The Smart Studio is Roomzzz’s entry-level studio apartment and these come with a comfortable double bed, a flatscreen television, a work desk, a small kitchen, ironing facilities and an en suite bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. Although these are the smallest option at Roomzzz, they are larger than your average hotel room.
The Elegance Suite and Liberty Suite are the next step up, sleeping up to three people. They come with all the features of the Smart Studio and also have bathtubs and balconies. Of these, the Liberty Suite is designed as an open-plan space but has a smaller Juliette balcony when compared to the Elegance Suite.
The Maxima Suite is the most spacious option, sleeping up to four people.
All these apartments feature fully-equipped kitchens that come with dishwashers, a fridge/freezer, a microwave, an oven and cooktop and tea and coffee making facilities as well as all the basic utensils you should need.
All apartments are air-conditioned and free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel complex.
Although the rooms are nice and spacious, there are no other communal spaces in the hotel other than a spot where you can pick up a complimentary ‘grab and go’ breakfast and a small Essentialzzz shop at the reception desk where you can buy basic food items.
Roomzzz has a suburban location around midway between the city centre and Kirkstall Abbey. There is not a lot of interest in the immediate area, although there are few places to eat just a one-minute walk up the road. Although not right in the centre of things, there are several points of interest within walking distance, including Headingley Stadium and the Yorkshire County Cricket Club Museum and the Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills, which are both around a 15-minute walk away and the Emmerdale Studio Experience, Abbey House Museum and Kirkstall Abbey are around a 25-minute walk.
It takes around 12–15 minutes to get into the city centre by bus with buses running every seven minutes or so.
The hotel has free on-site parking, which makes it a good option if you’re driving.
