Smeaton’s Tower

This striking lighthouse was built 22.5km (14 miles) off the coast on Eddystone reef in 1759 but Smeaton’s Tower was later moved to its present position on the Hoe in Plymouth after its foundations became unstable. The 22m (72 ft) tower offers stunning views from the lantern room.
