St George Hotel is an independent hotel convenient to Rochester and Chatham. It is an affordable accommodation option with a good location but it’s not quite as polished as the area’s chain hotels.
The 45 guest rooms all have comfortable beds, a flatscreen television, tea and coffee-making facilities and en suite bathrooms with many of the rooms having views over the River Medway. Rooms range from single rooms to double, twin and family rooms.
The hotel has a small bar and restaurant, although there are better options for eating and drinking if you’re willing to take a 5–10-minute walk from the hotel.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Reviews of St George Hotel are mixed with some guests describing the hotel as feeling a little dated, although it is certainly an improvement over the Royal Victoria and Bull Hotel in Rochester.
The hotel is located at the point where Rochester merges into Chatham and it’s across the road from Victoria Gardens and it is just a seven-minute walk from Chatham railway station. It is within walking distance to the centres of both Chatham and Rochester with Chatham High Street just a five-minute walk from the hotel and Rochester High Street a 15-minute walk away and most points of interest in Chatham and Rochester are no more than a half-hour walk from the hotel.
