The Crown Inn is a small five-bed hotel in a Grade II-listed 18th-century coaching inn in the centre of Woodstock.
The hotel’s five spacious guest bedrooms are unique although they all have comfortable king or super king-size beds with smart flat-screen televisions (with an Apple TV), a Bose Bluetooth sound dock, tea and coffee making facilities (with loose-leaf tea and freshly ground coffee) and large en-suite bathrooms with bathrobes and Green & Spring toiletries.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
The Jewel in The Crown is the restaurant downstairs which is has a simple menu of wood-fired pizzas, tapas and British and European-inspired mains. While the menu may be simple, the food is excellent. On Thursday nights there is a Spanish theme with tapas and paella and live music.
The dining areas feature windows that let in lots of natural light and there is also a nice courtyard where you can enjoy your meal on a sunny day.
The Crown Inn is on High Street in the historic centre of Woodstock. It is on the corner with Oxford Road (which carries all traffic through the town) and light sleepers may experience some difficulty with traffic noise. The hotel is only a three-minute walk to the main gates of Blenheim Palace, although it is a 12-minute walk to the actual palace. It is also handy for the bus to Oxford (which stops just a one-minute walk from the hotel).
