The Punchbowl Inn is a small hotel with only nine guest bedrooms located above a pub near Woodstock’s town centre.
It is the only hotel in Woodstock to offer several family rooms that accommodate up to four people.
All guests have free Wi-Fi wireless internet access.
Rooms are traditionally furnished, and some guests may find that the place feels a little dated when compared with more modern hotels elsewhere but it does fit in nicely with the town’s character.
There is a pub downstairs, which serves a menu based on classic British pub favourites including a Sunday roast and good value meals for the over 60s Monday–Friday. It has a lovely outdoor terrace and it is the closest pub to Blenheim Palace.
It is one of the more affordable options in a town with very expensive accommodation.
The Punchbowl is located on the edge of the town centre and it is only a two-minute walk to the main gates of Blenheim Palace, although it is a 10-minute walk to the actual palace. The location on Oxford Road is handy for the bus to Oxford (which stops just a one-minute walk from the hotel) but all traffic through Woodstock uses this road so traffic noise can be an issue for some people.
There is a small car park. Parking is limited, however, and you may need to park in the public car park 200m (220 yards) away.
