The Resident Liverpool (formerly the Nadler Liverpool) is a warehouse from the mid-19th century that has been converted into one of Liverpool’s better value hotels.
The 106 air-conditioned hotel rooms all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen television, a small kitchenette with a sink, fridge, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms with Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. The inclusion of the mini kitchen is a bonus that outweighs the hotel’s main drawback, that the windows in the hotel rooms do not open.
The smallest double rooms are compact at 16m² (174 sq ft) but standard doubles are 19m² (208 sq ft) and larger rooms are available that go all the way up to 44m² (365 sq ft).
The hotel’s interiors feature plenty of exposed brickwork, which adds a little character to the otherwise modern decor.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
There is a nice lounge area near the hotel reception and a boardroom is available to rent; however, the hotel does not have its own bar or restaurant although the central Ropewalks location means that there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby.
The Resident is located in the Ropewalks, which is a happening area with lots of great bars and restaurants. Despite being in the heart of a vibrant nightlife area, the hotel has excellent soundproofing (including triple-glazed windows) so you can generally count on getting a good night’s sleep.
It is around a three-minute walk to the edge of the city centre and most points of interest in central Liverpool are no more than a 15-minute walk from the hotel.
The closest station is Liverpool Central, which is only a four-minute walk from the hotel, and Lime Street railway station is a 10-minute walk away.
