The Rugby Hotel is a reasonably-priced independent hotel in an 18th-century building in Rugby’s town centre.
It is a small hotel with only 36 guest rooms. All rooms have comfortable beds, a flatscreen television, a work desk, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms.
A fresh coat of paint means that the hotel looks relatively nice from the street; however, many of the rooms look dated and feel a little tired.
The hotel bar (Horseshoes) is one of Rugby’s oldest local pubs and it offers good value food and drink with a proper pub atmosphere as opposed to your regular sterile hotel bar.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
The Rugby Hotel has a great location on Sheep Street in the heart of Rugby’s town centre. Most points of interest in the town centre are no more than a five-minute walk from the hotel and Rugby’s main attractions (Rugby Art Gallery and Museum, Rugby School, Webb Ellis Rugby Football Museum and the World Rugby Hall of Fame) are all only a two-minute walk away. It’s not a bad place if you prefer to stay somewhere with a little character (and if you don’t have high expectations) but you can get a lot more for the same price if you venture outside the town centre.
