Travelodge Harrogate is a modern budget hotel just off Parliament Street in the centre of Harrogate. It offers straightforward, no-frills accommodation within easy walking distance of the town’s main attractions, shops and restaurants. Its convenient location and clean, functional rooms make it a practical choice for visitors seeking an affordable base in the heart of Harrogate.
Rooms feature comfortable king-size beds, a television, a work desk, tea-and-coffee-making facilities and an en suite bathroom. However, the bathroom has a shower over a bath, meaning that you need to climb into a bathtub to have a shower.
Although it is a relatively new Travelodge, it has not yet been updated to Travelodge’s new room design, meaning that it is not quite up to the same standard as some other Travelodges.

Public areas at this hotel are fairly limited. Unlike some Travelodges, it does not have a cafe bar and this means that it isn’t possible to buy a cooked breakfast. While you can buy a boxed breakfast for £5.95, you’re much better off popping into the Wetherspoon’s pub next door to get a proper cooked breakfast at a lower price.
Unlike most other hotels, only your first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi wireless internet is free. If you need more internet, you have to pay £3.50 for 24 hours.
Although this is a budget hotel, prices can fluctuate depending on demand and it can be more expensive to stay here during peak periods.

Travelodge Harrogate has a great location just off Parliament Street in Harrogate’s Montpellier Quarter. This is a lovely area known for its independent shops, antique stores, cafés and wine bars and it has a refined but relaxed atmosphere, characterised by stone terraces and leafy streets. It is primarily a commercial area, though residential streets nearby give it a lived-in feel.
The hotel’s location is convenient for exploring Harrogate with most points of interest within easy walking distance. The Royal Pump Room Museum, the Mercer Gallery and the Valley Gardens are all just a few minutes’ walk away and the railway and bus stations are both around a 10–15-minute walk from the hotel.
There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
