Travelodge Kingston upon Thames Central

The Travelodge Kingston upon Thames Central hotel is a good value hotel in Kingston upon Thames in London’s southwestern suburbs. It is close to Hampton Court Palace and is well placed for an easy commute into central London.

Rooms at the Travelodge Kingston upon Thames Central are a mix of double and family rooms. All rooms include comfortable king-size beds, a television, a work desk, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with a shower.

There are also some wheelchair-accessible rooms available.

While rooms at the Travelodge Kingston Upon Thames Central hotel are hardly four- or five-star luxury, they are perfectly adequate for a budget accommodation option and the hotel offers a clean and secure room for the night at a good price. (Photo © Travelodge)

There is another Travelodge just around the corner and you may want to check availability for both hotels as sometimes one hotel may offer cheaper rooms than the other.

Unlike most other hotels, only your first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi wireless internet is free. If you need more internet you have to pay £3 for 24 hours.

Although this is a budget hotel, prices can fluctuate depending on demand and it can be more expensive staying here during peak periods although in most cases this hotel is a cheaper alternative to more centrally-located hotels.

The hotel is located in the centre of Kingston upon Thames, a major suburban centre with good transport connections to other parts of London. There are lots of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs in the immediate area and Kingston railway station (in zone six) has six trains per hour to London Waterloo with four running via Wimbledon and the other two going via Richmond and Twickenham. The journey time to Waterloo is around half an hour for trains running via Wimbledon and 47 minutes for trains running via Twickenham.

Kingston is close to Hampton Court Park and bus routes 111, 216 and 411 run frequently between Kingston and Hampton Court Palace with a journey time of around 10 minutes.

Although not particularly close to Heathrow Airport, there are direct bus connections between Kingston and Heathrow with bus route X26 running to Heathrow Airport every half hour. The trip to the airport takes around 45 minutes and only costs £1.50. There are also other direct buses to Heathrow, but the X26 is faster.

There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
