The Travelodge London Acton hotel is an affordable hotel in Acton in west London. Because of its location outside central London, it is relatively cheap for a London hotel but its access to public transport means that you can be in the heart of London in just 20 minutes.
This Travelodge is a relatively new hotel and it is a nicer place to stay than other hotels in the Travelodge chain. It is also air-conditioned, a feature that many other hotels in this price range don’t have.
Rooms at the Travelodge London Acton are a mix of double and family rooms. All rooms include comfortable king-size beds, a television, a work desk, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with a shower.
In addition to standard rooms, this hotel also has SuperRooms, which are a bit like a premium economy room aimed at business travellers that don’t have the budget for a traditional business hotel. These rooms cost more and are much bigger with a larger desk, more power points, a better shower and a Lavazza coffee pod machine.
There are also some wheelchair-accessible rooms available.
This hotel also has a small bar and restaurant but there are also several places to eat nearby.
Unlike most other hotels, only your first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi wireless internet is free. If you need more internet you have to pay £3 for 24 hours.
Although this is a budget hotel, prices can fluctuate depending on demand and it can be more expensive staying here during peak periods although in most cases this hotel is a cheaper alternative to more centrally-located hotels.
The hotel is located inside an industrial estate, which is hardly an appealing location. It is just a short walk to the centre of North Acton, which is a pleasant area of modern blocks of flats with several places to eat and drink nearby.
The hotel is a five-minute walk to North Acton tube station (on the border of zones two and three). The station is on the Central line and there are frequent trains (every few minutes) into central London. The journey time to Oxford Circus is less than 20 minutes.
Parking is available but it costs £12.50 for 24 hours.
There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
