The Travelodge London Dagenham East is a good value accommodation option in Dagenham in East London. The hotel features Travelodge’s new room design and it is only a four-minute walk from a tube station; however, it is a long ride into Central London and you would probably be better off staying farther from Central London near a station with faster trains. It’s in Dagenham, part of London’s least-posh borough, 19km (11½ miles) east of Central London. It’s not the fanciest neighbourhood but it is pleasant enough with a nice pub next door and some local shops offering a couple of other options for eating out. The hotel is a four-minute walk from Dagenham East tube station, which has frequent trains into Central London; however, it’s a slow journey and it may be a better option to pay extra to stay closer to the action or to stay farther from Central London near a station with faster trains that will get you into the centre of London much quicker.

This hotel has free parking, which is unusual for London, making it a good option if you’re driving.

There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
