The Travelodge London Finsbury Park hotel is an affordable accommodation option in Finsbury Park in North London that has excellent transport connections that will get you into central London in as little as five minutes.
Rooms at the Travelodge London Finsbury Park are a mix of double and family rooms. All rooms include comfortable king-size beds, a television, a work desk, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with a shower.
In addition to standard rooms, this hotel also has SuperRooms, which are a bit like a premium economy room aimed at business travellers that don’t have the budget for a traditional business hotel. These rooms cost more and are much bigger with a larger desk, more power points, a better shower and a Lavazza coffee pod machine.
There are also some wheelchair-accessible rooms available.
This hotel also has a small bar and restaurant, although there are also plenty of other places to eat and drink nearby.
Unlike most other hotels, only your first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi wireless internet is free. If you need more internet you have to pay £3 for 24 hours.
Although this is a budget hotel, prices can fluctuate depending on demand and it can be more expensive staying here during peak periods. Although this hotel has excellent transport connections, its location in Finsbury Park means that it is generally cheaper to stay here than more centrally-located hotels.
Finsbury Park is a mostly residential area but there are also several shops, cafes and pubs nearby and you can walk to Finsbury Park (the park not the neighbourhood) in less than 10 minutes and Arsenal Football Club’s Emirates Stadium in 15 minutes. Finsbury Park station is only a three-minute walk from the hotel.
Although the Finsbury Park location may not initially appear to be all that central, because Finsbury Park has several train lines plus two tube lines it is a particularly central hotel when you take into account travel time into central London.
Finsbury Park station (in zone two) has two tube lines as well as frequent suburban trains into central London. Both the Piccadilly and Victoria lines pass through Finsbury Park station en route to central London and will take you to Kings Cross St Pancras in just five minutes and Oxford Circus in under 10 minutes. There are also regular suburban trains running through Finsbury Park with direct services to Moorgate, Kings Cross and St Pancras and Thameslink services running through central London stopping at City Thameslink, Blackfriars and London Bridge.
There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
