The Travelodge London Park Royal hotel is a good value hotel close to a tube station with frequent trains into central London but its location on a busy road means that this is not the most charming place in London to stay.
Travelodge London Park Royal has recently been updated to feature Travelodge’s new interior design, which makes this hotel nicer than the average Travelodge.
Rooms at the Travelodge London Park Royal are a mix of double and family rooms. All rooms include comfortable king-size beds, a television, a work desk, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with a shower.
There are also some wheelchair-accessible rooms available.
Unlike most other hotels, only your first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi wireless internet is free. If you need more internet you have to pay £3 for 24 hours.
Although this is a budget hotel, prices can fluctuate depending on demand and it can be more expensive staying here during peak periods although in most cases this hotel is a cheaper alternative to more centrally-located hotels.
The location on a busy road means that some rooms may suffer from traffic noise.
This Travelodge is located on a busy dual carriageway and there is not much of interest in the immediate vicinity unless you like poking around car dealerships. If you do get hungry late at night there is a petrol station next door where you can get coffee and snack food. Although there is a retail park across the road with fast food restaurants and a cinema complex, it takes 10-minutes to walk there as you need to first walk up to the tube station before you can cross the road.
It is around a five-minute walk to Park Royal tube station (in zone three). Park Royal is on the Uxbridge branch of the Piccadilly line and it has six trains per hour (twice this during peak times) to Cockfosters, all stopping en route at stations in central London. It takes around half an hour to get to Piccadilly Circus.
Parking is available at this hotel but it costs £7 for 24 hours.
There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
