The Wessex Hotel in Street may not look like much but it has plenty of car parking and a convenient location within easy walking distance to the Clarks Village outlet shopping centre and it is only a five-minute drive from the centre of Glastonbury.
The hotel’s 51 guest rooms all have flatscreen TVs, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms with a shower above a bathtub.
The hotel’s public areas include a lounge bar and the Olive Tree Restaurant, which looks like it was once quite a fancy restaurant but, like the rest of the hotel, now seems a bit dated.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Overall, the hotel feels very dated and staying here feels like travelling back in time to the 1970s, except if you really had gone back to the seventies, then your mattresses would be brand new, which is sadly not the case here.
