Torquay (Torbay) is a seaside resort at the northern end of the Torbay area. It has the most Mediterranean-feel of the towns in the Torbay area (which also includes Brixham and Paignton) and the town, and the Torbay area, in general, has been dubbed the English Riviera.
The main attractions are the Living Coasts coastal wildlife park (owned by the nearby Paignton Zoo) and Torquay Museum, Devon’s oldest museum.
Torquay railway station, on the Riviera Line, stops here en route between Exeter and Paignton.
Torquay is also served by Stagecoach buses to other destinations in the Torbay area and also to nearby towns including direct bus services to Exeter and Newton Abbot. National Express coaches, departing from Torquay Coach Station, go farther afield to destinations throughout England.
