Alexandra House

The hotel is a modern complex set amongst 8ha (20 acres) of landscaped grounds. It includes 152 guest rooms, which all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Some wheelchair-accessible rooms are available.

It primarily caters to large events such as conventions and weddings and it has large event spaces that can cater for up to 300 attendees.

Its location well away from the town centre means that there is nothing of interest in the immediate area surrounding the hotel. Because of this, most guests find themselves dining at the hotel restaurant. The Tempus Restaurant has a menu that includes steak, chicken and fish as well as vegan and vegetarian options and the hotel’s bar serves burgers, pizza and light sandwiches.

Other facilities include a fitness centre plus a heated indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a tennis court, which all guests have access to.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the complex.

The entire complex is clean and maintained to a very high standard.

Alexandra House is located in a suburban housing estate around 8km (5 miles) south of Swindon town centre. It is around a 15-minute drive into the town centre or around 25 minutes by bus. The closest bus stop is an eight-minute walk away and from here, Stagecoach bus routes 81 and 82 go into the town centre around once every 70 minutes.
