Brighton Zip is an adventure activity on Brighton’s seafront that comprises a dual zip line (flying fox) plus the Drop Zone, a freefall experience.
The Brighton Zip experience consists of zip line (flying fox) ride on a set of dual 300 m (984 ft)-long zip wires that are 17m (56 ft) above Brighton Beach. Although not particularly long, it is the longest zip wire on the south coast and its central location means that it gives you a great view over Brighton. Because there are dual zip lines, it is possible to race a friend to the end of the line.
Visiting Brighton Zip
The Brighton Zip complex is on the seafront around midway between the Brighton Pier and Volk’s Electric Railway. The seafront location is handy to other Brighton attractions with Volk’s Electric Railway only a one-minute walk away, Brighton Palace Pier and the SEA LIFE Brighton Aquarium a two-minute walk and Brighton Dome, Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, the Royal Pavilion and the Lanes within a 10-minute walk.
Although it is open daily in summer, during winter it only opens on weekends and it may occasionally close during extreme weather conditions. Your ticket is valid for one year so if it isn’t operating when you visit, you are able to come back another day.
The minimum age for both rides is six and there is a minimum height restriction of 120 cm (3 ft 11 in). The minimum weight is 30kg (4 st 10 lb) and the maximum weight is 120kg (18 st 12 lb).
It is a relatively short experience that is over in under half an hour. Because it takes up so little of your time, it is easy to fit this into a busy sightseeing schedule but it also means that it isn’t such good value for money.
