The Fleur de Lis Heritage Centre is a small local history museum with a focus on Faversham and the surrounding area.

It is housed in three adjoining buildings on Preston Street, which date from the 15th to the 18th centuries. The museum tells the story of Faversham’s history, from its Roman origins to its role in the gunpowder industry.

What to see at the Fleur de Lis Heritage Centre

The museum’s collection includes a wide variety of objects, including archaeological finds, paintings, photographs, and documents. Visitors can see exhibits on a variety of topics, including the Roman occupation of Faversham, the town’s role in the gunpowder industry, the Faversham Creek, the Faversham Pottery, the town’s maritime history, and Faversham’s role in the First and Second World Wars.

The museum also has a number of interactive exhibits, which allow visitors to learn about Faversham’s history in a fun and engaging way.

Visiting the Fleur de Lis Heritage Centre

The Fleur de Lis Heritage Centre is open daily and admission is free of charge.

The museum is wheelchair accessible.

The museum’s location in the town centre means that there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby.

Allow 1–1½ hours for your visit to the museum.
