Blackpool’s Grand Hotel is a large, relatively modern, hotel by the seafront in Blackpool.
It was a Hilton hotel from 1999 to 2018 and it had a very good reputation as a Hilton but hotels tend to go downhill fast after they are bought by Britannia and this is no exception. While standards have certainly dropped over the last few years, it is still much newer, and nicer, than most other Britannia Hotels.
The hotel’s 278 rooms are relatively well maintained with good facilities including a work desk, a flatscreen television, tea-and-coffee-making facilities and en suite bathrooms.
The hotel’s common areas are actually quite nice, although the rooms could be cleaner and better maintained, especially considering that it is much newer than most other hotels in Blackpool.
The public areas include a nice restaurant with sea views (although the food is not as nice as the restaurant it is served in) as well as a lounge bar.
There is also a gym and indoor swimming pool, although it’s not included in your room rate and is charged at an extra £2–4.
Grand Hotel Blackpool is on the Promenade between Wilton Parade and Gynn Square tram stops. It is around 1.2km (¾ mile) north of the town centre and around a 15-minute walk to Blackpool North railway station. While there is not a lot of interest in the immediate vicinity around the hotel, it does have a better location than a lot of other hotels in Blackpool. The hotel has a large car park with parking charged at £7 per night.
