Hilton Liverpool City Centre

The Hilton Liverpool City Centre hotel is a modern hotel with a brilliant location just a few minutes walk to both Albert Dock and Liverpool One shopping centre.

The seven-storey-high hotel has 215 guest rooms that are comprised of standard double and twin rooms as well as executive rooms and suites.

The 27m² (290 sq ft) standard double and twin guest rooms are all air-conditioned with comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities, a minibar and en suite bathrooms. Some of the double and twin rooms are set up for guests who require wheelchair access.

The executive rooms on the sixth and seventh floors are the same size as the standard rooms but they have better views and also feature bathrobes and Nespresso coffee machines. The hotel’s suites are larger, ranging from 54m² (581 sq ft) to 81m² (871 sq ft), and have separate living and sleeping areas. Guests staying in the suites and the executive rooms have access to the hotel’s executive lounge, which has complimentary coffee, snacks and refreshments throughout the day.

Although somewhat bland, the contemporary decor in the rooms is a step above many other chain hotels of a similar standard.

Rooms on the higher floors, particularly those facing Albert Dock, have lovely floor-to-ceiling views. However, some of the rooms look over the adjacent bus station.

The hotel has a large open-plan lobby area where you can find the hotel reception and the in-house bar and restaurant. The Exchange restaurant has an international menu that encompasses both Asian and European flavours and afternoon tea is served here daily between 1pm and 4pm. The adjoining Pima Bar is the place to go for cocktails or a glass of wine and the bar also features an outdoor terrace, which is a lovely spot if you’re staying here during summer.

There is also a large fitness centre that is open 24 hours and the hotel has a dedicated floor that is used for meetings and functions.

Wi-Fi wireless internet access is free in public areas but it costs a hefty £15 per day if you want Wi-Fi access inside your room. Fortunately, members of Hilton’s loyalty programme (which is free to join) get free Wi-Fi access.

Like other hotels in Liverpool, pricing can vary a lot depending on when you’re staying. It is surprisingly affordable for a hotel of this standard if you’re here off-season but it can be quite expensive if you stay in the peak season or when there is a major event on in Liverpool.

It is a pet-friendly hotel and bedding and toys are available if you’re travelling with your dog.

This Hilton has a brilliant city centre location. It is right next to Liverpool One shopping centre (and the Liverpool One bus station, which has buses to the airport) and it is right across the road from Albert Dock. With this location, there are plenty of points of interest within a 10-minute walk, including the Beatles Story, the Cavern Club, the Magical Beatles Museum, the British Music Experience, the Royal Liver Building, the Museum of Liverpool, the Merseyside Maritime Museum, Tate Liverpool and the Western Approaches Museum.

Liverpool One bus station is right next door and the closest railway station is James Street, which is a five-minute walk away. Lime Street railway station is a 12-minute walk from the hotel.

Secure undercover parking is available for £25 per 24-hour period.
