The hotel has 157 spacious guest rooms that include double and twin rooms. Rooms have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms.

The 24 Next Generation double guest rooms in the hotel’s new wing are a step above the standard of the hotel’s older rooms.

The Great Room is the hotel’s bar and lounge area where the Express Start buffet breakfast, which is included in your room rate, is served every morning. The bar is open till 1am and pizza is available 24 hours.

There is free wired internet access in all rooms, but Wi-Fi wireless internet access is only free for IHG Rewards members. It is free to join the IHG loyalty programme and free Wi-Fi is available to all members, even those on the entry-level tier.

The hotel is located in Filton in Bristol’s northern outskirts. The neighbourhood does not appear particularly walkable, although there are places to eat, drink and shop within walking distance including a couple of large supermarkets as well as several fast-food restaurants.

Public transport connections are pretty good for a suburban hotel in Bristol. There is a bus stop just a couple of minutes’ walk away with regular services into the city centre and it is around a 12-minute walk from Filton Abbey Wood railway station and from here you can get into Bristol Temple Meads in under 10 minutes with four trains per hour.

This Holiday Inn Express is a great option if you’re driving. The hotel has free car parking and easy access to the M4.
