The Village Hotel Bristol is a suburban hotel on the northern outskirts of Bristol. It is within walking distance of Aerospace Bristol and Patchway railway station.
The hotel has 153 guest rooms, which are split between standard and club rooms. All rooms have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, an Alexa virtual assistant, ironing facilities and an en suite bathroom with a rain shower. Club rooms cost an additional £20, which gives you access to the gym and a co-working space plus premium TV channels.
The Village Pub & Grill is the hotel restaurant and although it has a touch more character than you would expect from a bar in a brand new hotel, it certainly doesn’t have the cosy atmosphere that you would normally expect from a place that calls itself a pub. The hotel also has a branch of Starbucks coffee.
The hotel also has an excellent fitness centre with a 20m (65 ft) heated swimming pool, a spa pool, steam room and a sauna. Access to the gym comes at an additional £5 charge if you’re staying in a standard room but it is free for guests staying in the hotel’s club rooms.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Village Hotels is a chain of hotels located mainly in suburban locations on the outskirts of large UK towns and cities. Village Hotels have a more upmarket image than most other suburban hotels and the chain’s Bristol hotel is one of their newest so everything is brand new and well maintained.
The hotel is in an industrial area in Filton in Bristol’s northern suburbs. It is across the road from a Rolls-Royce manufacturing plant (where jet engines are made) and there is not much else of interest in the immediate vicinity, however, you can walk from here to Aerospace Bristol in around 20 minutes.
This hotel has better public transport connections than most other suburban hotels in Bristol. There is a bus stop around the corner with regular buses into the city centre and the journey into town takes around 45 minutes. You can also get the train into town in from Patchway railway station, which is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. It only takes 12 minutes to get to Temple Meads by train but trains run only once per hour.
