The Manchester West Holiday Inn hotel has an inconvenient suburban location in Salford, although parking is available which may be a bonus for some people.
The 82 room hotel is a three-storey brick building surrounded by parking. The hotel has nicer rooms than you would expect from its dull exterior. All rooms include a large comfortable bed, a 32-inch flat-screen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en-suite bathrooms. Guest bedrooms start at 18m² (194 sq ft) and the largest rooms are 26m² (280 sq ft).
There are two wheelchair-accessible rooms in the hotel.
There is free Wi-Fi wireless internet access throughout the hotel as well as free parking.
The hotel has a bar and restaurant on site that is licensed till 2am, although there are some menu items that are available 24 hours.
The free parking is the primary reason most people choose this hotel, although there are cheaper and better-located hotels in Manchester that also have parking.
The hotel has a fairly grim suburban location on a busy road in Salford and there is not much of interest within the immediate vicinity, although you can walk into Spinningfields in 20 minutes. Local bus routes 70, 73 and 79 stop outside the hotel and go to Salford Quays and MediaCityUK but you have to walk to Regent Road (a seven-minute walk) to get bus routes 33 and 63 into central Manchester. The closest railway station is Salford Central, which is a 15-minute walk.
