This Holiday Inn Express hotel has a nice waterfront setting, making it a better-located hotel than most other hotels in the Salford Quays area.
The hotel is a modern seven-storey brick building with 120 guest bedrooms. All rooms come with comfortable beds, flat-screen televisions, work desks, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel and an Express Start breakfast is included in all room rates.
The hotel has a bar on the ground floor where breakfast is served each morning. It is a clean and bright space for breakfast and there is a waterfront terrace that is a pleasant spot for a drink on a summer day. The hotel bar isn’t the most charming place, but there are plenty of other places to eat and drink in the immediate area.
Like other Holiday Inn Express hotels, it is a clean modern hotel with a high standard of accommodation but without the extra amenities that you would find in a higher-rated hotel. Holiday Inn Express hotels are usually slightly nicer than other hotels catering to the same market, such as ibis, Premier Inn and Travelodge, although Holiday Inn Express also tends to be more expensive than other hotels in the same category.
There are quite a few hotels located in suburban Salford Quays, but this hotel is one of the better located with a lovely waterfront setting. The hotel is only a five-minute walk to the Lowry Outlet Centre, eight minutes to The Lowry, 10 minutes to IWM North and 12 minutes to MediaCityUK. It is a four-minute walk to Salford Quays Metrolink tram stop, which has frequent trams into central Manchester with direct tram services to Manchester Piccadilly railway station.
Parking is available but it costs £4 per day.
Because of the hotel’s waterfront location, it is a pleasant walk along canalside towpaths to all these points of interest while many other hotels in the Salford Quays area are less attractively located on busy roads.
