The ibis Styles London Heathrow Airport hotel is a good value place to stay within easy access to Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3. This hotel is a good accommodation option and it has more character than most other Heathrow hotels in the same price bracket.
The hotel’s 140 guest rooms are spacious for a hotel in this price range. All rooms are air-conditioned and have comfortable beds, flat-screen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. There are no desks in the rooms, however, a small table and a shelf affixed to the wall can both function as a workspace.
Seven of the rooms are equipped for guests needing wheelchair access.
Room rates include a continental buffet breakfast (you can pay extra for a cooked breakfast), which is served in the Westcombe Restaurant on the ground floor. The bar/restaurant also serves basic meals like burgers, pasta and curries. Food is available 5am–midnight and drinks are available 24 hours.
The hotel is well set up for travellers arriving at and departing from Heathrow Airport. The hotel reception area has screens showing flight departures and there are printers so you can print out your boarding passes.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Although the ibis and ibis budget hotel chains have very little character with one hotel in the chain looking very much like the next, ibis Styles hotels are different to other hotels using the ibis name. Ibis Styles hotels are either older hotels with their own unique charm or they are newer hotels that have been decorated in a theme unique to that particular hotel. In this instance, the Heathrow ibis Styles hotel has an aviation theme which fits in nicely as most hotel guests will be departing or arriving at Heathrow Airport. For the most part, the decor is nicely done, however, some aspects of the decor (such as the large picture above your bedhead) can look a little tacky.
It is one of the closest hotels to Terminals 2 and 3 but it is not possible to walk to the terminals as road access is via a tunnel that is off-limits to pedestrians. However, there are frequent bus connections that will get you to Heathrow Central Bus Station (for Terminals 2 and 3) in under 10 minutes.
You can also take the Hotel Hoppa bus to the airport terminal but this bus costs £5.50 (£6 if you buy your ticket on board the bus) for a one-way trip and these buses run less frequently than the regular buses.
The Bath Road location is not a particularly interesting neighbourhood but there are several places to eat and drink nearby including the Three Magpies pub as well as the bars and restaurants in the nearby Novotel, Park Inn by Radisson and Radisson Blu hotels. In most instances, you’re better off catching a bus to the airport terminal.
The hotel has a small car park (just 26 spaces) which costs £12 per 24-hour period.
