The Lamb Inn is a pub in Eastbourne’s Old Town neighbourhood that offers accommodation in four rooms. It has loads of character (it is over 800 years old) but it is a long way from the town centre.
Although the building dates from 1180, the rooms are clean and well-maintained and it is traditionally, yet tastefully, decorated. The four guest bedrooms all include comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat screen television, DAB digital radio, ironing facilities, a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.
The hotel gets very good feedback from guests and the full-English breakfast is highly recommended.
The rooms are located above Eastbourne’s oldest pub, which has a great atmosphere. It serves traditional English food with a good range of beer (from the local Harvey’s brewery). Apparently, it is one of the most haunted pubs in Eastbourne but don’t let that put you off.
The Lamb Theatre is also located on the premises. Although the theatre has only been running since 2009, it is believed that Augustus Egg and Charles Dickens hosted theatrical events here in the 19th century.
It is located in Eastbourne’s Old Town neighbourhood, which is around a 20-minute walk from the town centre and a half-hour walk from Eastbourne Pier. Although it is far from the most central place to stay in Eastbourne, the immediate neighbourhood is very nice and has all the essentials (such as a supermarket and a good choice of shops). It is served by bus routes into the town centre including Stagecoach routes 1, 1A and 55 (which run every 10 minutes) and Brighton & Hove bus routes 12, 12A, 12X and 13X (which run every half hour and also go all the way to Brighton).Check prices and availability for The Lamb Inn
