Leonardo Hotel Liverpool (formerly Jurys Inn Liverpool) is a modern six-storey hotel that is popular with business travellers. It is in the Albert Dock area of Liverpool and it is very close to the M&S Bank Arena as well as the ACC convention centre and Exhibition Centre Liverpool.
The 310 hotel rooms are all air-conditioned and have comfortable beds, a large work desk, a flat-screen television, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Some wheelchair-accessible rooms are available.
Some people complain that soundproofing between rooms could be improved. This can be a big issue in Liverpool, which is a very popular destination for rowdy hen and stag trips.
A buffet breakfast is available in the hotel’s ground-floor restaurant, although this is not usually included in your room rate. The restaurant (Oddsocks Bar & Kitchen) is also open for lunch and dinner and bar snacks are available throughout the day.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet is available throughout the hotel.
It can feel a little bland and impersonal like many other hotels in the Leonardo Hotels chain.
The hotel is popular with business travellers, particularly because of its close proximity to the ACC convention centre and Exhibition Centre Liverpool. Business facilities at the hotel include 10 meeting rooms. Although it can sometimes be an affordable accommodation option, it can also be quite pricey if there is an event scheduled at the arena or the convention and exhibition centres.
The hotel is located right next to the Wheel of Liverpool, M&S Bank Arena and the ACC convention centre with the Exhibition Centre Liverpool just a few minutes’ walk south. It is just south of Albert Dock and all the attractions of Albert Dock are between a two- and a seven-minute walk from the hotel with the Merseyside Maritime Museum and Tate Liverpool at the far end of Albert Dock (around a 6–7-minute walk away) and the Beatles Story only a three-minute walk from the hotel. The departure point for the Magical Mystery Tour is only a two-minute walk from the hotel and the National Trust tour of the Beatles childhood homes departs from right outside the hotel.
It is only a 10-minute walk into the city centre and the Liverpool waterfront (where you can find the Museum of Liverpool and the Three Graces) is only a 12-minute walk away. It is a 20-minute walk to Liverpool Lime Street station but Liverpool One bus station is only seven minutes’ walk from the hotel.
