The London Marriott Hotel Regents Park hotel is a four-star hotel just north of Regent’s Park with easy access to Central London. The hotel has been around since the 1970s and while the exterior looks dated, it is much nicer inside.
It is a large hotel with 307 guest rooms and seven suites arranged over seven floors. All rooms have comfortable beds, a small sitting area, a work desk, a flat-screen television, ironing facilities, a small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Some of the rooms are adapted for guests with disabilities.
Deluxe (standard) guest rooms are 21–28m² (226–301 sq ft), family rooms are 27–40m² (291–430 sq ft), superior and executive rooms are 26–34m² (280–366 sq ft) and suites are 40–49m² (430–527 sq ft).
Guests staying in the executive rooms and suites have access to the M Club lounge, which includes complimentary snacks and beverages.
Carluccio’s is the hotel’s restaurant, which is part of the restaurant chain established by the late Italian celebrity chef Antonio Carluccio. The restaurant serves good quality Italian food at reasonable prices.
The hotel is more spacious than hotels of a similar standard in the heart of London and this means that there is room for extra amenities that you won’t find in most other Central London hotels. This includes a fitness centre with a sauna and a heated indoor swimming pool.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available in the hotel’s public areas but there is an additional £10–15 per day charge for in-room Wi-Fi (the pricing varies depending on how fast you need your data).
The hotel is on a leafy street in a lovely neighbourhood and it is a five-minute walk to a local shopping area on Finchley Road, which has plenty of places to eat, drink and shop.
Although there are not a lot of tourist attractions within the immediate area, you can walk from here to the Freud Museum in around 12 minutes and it is less than a 10-minute walk to Primrose Hill, which is a great picnic spot with lovely views of London. Lord’s Cricket Ground, London Zoo and Regent’s Park are around a 20-minute walk from the hotel.
Although it is outside the city centre, it has excellent public transport connections into Central London. It is only a five-minute walk to Swiss Cottage tube station (on the Jubilee line in zone two), which is only two stops (four minutes) from Baker Street and three stops (six minutes) from Bond Street with trains running every two minutes.
If you are flying in or out of Luton or Stansted Airports, it is a 14-minute walk to a spot where you can catch a direct National Express coach to either of these two airports.
On-site car parking is available but it costs £33 for 24 hours.
