Fewer travellers use Maidstone West railway station compared with Maidstone East station. This station has infrequent trains into central London (arriving at St Pancras) plus more frequent direct services to Paddock Wood, Strood and Tonbridge where you can make connections for trains into London.
From Maidstone West, there are two trains per hour to Strood and hourly trains to Paddock Wood and Tonbridge.
The station has ticket machines and a ticket office that is staffed Monday–Saturday.
It is located is on the western bank of the River Medway, not far from the Premier Inn and Travelodge hotels. From here, it is only around a 6–7-minute walk to the High Street in the town centre.
