The Malmasion Manchester is a stylish luxury hotel in Manchester’s city centre. It has an impressive gothic exterior, although the interior is more modern with a colour palette based on black, grey and red contrasted with white. The decor may not be to everyone’s taste but the hotel does appeal to young professionals who like the hip vibe.
The hotel has 167 bedrooms plus 13 suites.
The bedrooms all have comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms (most with both a bath and shower) plus all the amenities you would expect in a high-end hotel including flat screen televisions, an iron and ironing board, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities.
The smallest rooms are the nine cosy double rooms, which are just like most of the standard rooms but a little smaller and with an en-suite shower (no bath). The standard double and twin rooms are larger and have an en-suite shower and bath. The superior double and twin rooms are just that little bit nicer and feature king size beds (in the superior double) and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate bath.
The Malmaison’s 13 suites come in four varieties starting at the junior suite, moving up to the corner suites, then the football-themed Manchester suites and at the top of the scale are the hotel’s super suites. The Romeo and Juliet super suite features an en-suite bathroom with both a raised bath and walk-in shower plus a bean bag-filled lounge room with a large screen TV and Bose sound system.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available to all guests.
The Chez Mal Brasserie on the ground floor is decked in red leather and neon and is a relaxing spot for a drink or a meal. They boast a Josper charcoal oven, which produces particularly delicious smokey steaks. Chez Mal is also known for its Sunday buffet lunches and they often have prix fixe lunch and dinner specials.
The hotel also features a fitness centre, spa and sauna.
The Malmaison Manchester is a convenient place to stay if you’re arriving by train as it is only a three-minute walk to Manchester Piccadilly railway station with most areas of the city centre within a 10 to 15-minute walk.
