Margate railway station is just a short walk to the town centre and has trains to London (St Pancras International and Victoria station), Ramsgate, Canterbury (Canterbury West station), Dover and Ashford International.
From Margate station, there are three trains per hour to London St Pancras and Ramsgate; two trains per hour to Ashford International and hourly trains to Canterbury West, Deal, Dover Priory, Ebbsfleet International and London Victoria.
Trains to London St Pancras run on the HS1 high-speed line (which is also used by Eurostar trains) but regular trains go to London Victoria.
The station is less than a five-minute walk to the beach and less than 10 minutes’ walk to the town centre.
