Paignton railway station is the terminus of the Riviera branch line from Exeter St Davids and you are able to change trains here for the heritage Dartmouth Steam Railway. Along with Torquay, it is one of the two main railway stations in the Torbay region.
Trains to Exeter run every half hour on weekdays but are less frequent on weekends. Many trains continue towards Exmouth and there are also some long-distance trains including a CrossCountry service to Manchester Piccadilly and a GWR service to London Paddington. However, in most cases, passengers making long-distance journeys should change trains at Newton Abbot.
